Today was a day of celebration, as we are finally recognized as a participant of the UN Global Compact network!
Why would a small company like this join such a network and spend additional time reporting on sustainability indicators you might ask? Time that could have been spent on billable customer work instead. The simple answer is that since the inauguration of the company, profit has never been the main driver. Giving back to the society has always been important for us. Taking this step just feel like the right thing to do. Below we have listed the specific sustainability goals we are working towards in 2023.
Quality Education
Having previously worked with NGO’s that has a particular focus on education, this was an easy goal to pick. We are in our organization fortunate enough to have our , and it is exciting to see how the next generation evolve and learn new things, including technology. We know there is a lack of education in technology in particular and commit to help building the next generation of engineers.
Gender equality
Being a company of one person it is maybe difficult to ensure gender equality within the organization. This does not mean that we cannot help to ensure gender equality in the wider world. When we work towards development goal #4 as stated above, we will in particular have a focus on girls, and their education.
Industry, innovation and infrastructure
Technology has always been an important part of what we work with in Eskelund Consulting Services. Over the years we have seen that technology can help in societies, but it can also be used to degrade the level of a society. Hence, in our work we will strive to help all the organizations we work together with to innovate and to build infrastructure that help the society. We will work with digital partnerships to help creating innovative solutions for the next generation.
Responsible consumption and production
Working with procurement of technology we find it quite obvious that we should help our partners to both produce and consume resources in a responsible way. A better understanding of environmental and social impacts of products and services is important. When we run the commercial procurement processes, we will always have this in our mind. This applies both to the direct procurement of services as well as to the lifecycle of the service we help procuring.
