During the last few months, we in Eskelund Consulting Services have had the privilege to be part of a working group creating Agile Contract Manifesto.
Why such a manifest you might ask?
There are many reasons for launching a manifest like this, and there are even many reasons for doing it now. One important reason is the “Spotification” we have observed in many organizations. It is a trend that organizations reorganize and work in product teams instead of in the traditional hierarchies we are used to see. However, organizations cannot work in vacuum, and without help of externals. This means that contracts for buying people and/or services are still important. And this is exactly where the Agile Contract Manifesto comes into the picture.
Another reason is the huge change in the way people work due to the Covid pandemic. This pandemic has shown us that it is possible to work in distributed teams across the globe. Customers would rather like to work with talented individuals than to work with large vendors. Such a change in sourcing policies changes how contracts are drafted.
You can read the manifesto here. If the manifesto resonates to you and how you work with agreements, we would very much appreciate that you sign the manifesto.
If any further questions/comments/concerns; feel free to reach out. There will certainly be more posts about the Agile Contract Manifesto here shortly.
